FC 1974 Libertyville is excited to announce a strategic partnership with FC Stars. This alliance will see the two clubs combine and collaborate to facilitate high level playing opportunities for club members who historically have not had these connections.

FC 1974 Libertyville is a highly competitive club with over 850 players based in the northern suburbs. The club teams play on several local, regional, and national platforms with the mission of offering a competitive developmental environment for every player pursuant to the level of ability. Over the past 3 years, we have seen tremendous growth in our Select teams and we feel that several of our teams and players are ready to compete on a regional level.

FC Stars is a boutique European style soccer academy that offers players a highly progressive and complete developmental training program. FC Stars philosophy is about attracting talented, hard-working players, and helping each athlete become the best version of themselves possible both on and off the field.

The main of the collaboration is to build high quality teams to compete in the newly created USYS Elite 64 Regional League. ‘Our inclusion in the new USYS platform will offer more of our players higher quality competition and standards which will push their developmental limits. Partnering with FC Stars will foster a stronger training environment and deepen the player pool for this endeavor,’ said FC 1974 Executive Director, Michael Zovistoski.

This will be a true collaboration as players from both clubs will come together to bring about the strongest groups through the ages for the Elite 64 Regional League. ‘We are also excited for the opportunity for two competitive clubs to work together. We are confident that this partnership will provide the best possible platform for our players to showcase themselves. It will bring new competition to an already strong region and help Illinois to be well represented on the national level’, said Edin Sejdinovic Technical Director FC Stars Soccer Club.
