
Michael Zovistoski
Executive Director Email: michael@glsa.org BIO: Michael Zovistoski grew up in Middletown, New York, where he started playing soccer at age 8 for the local Kiwanis Club, he played for Middletown Soccer Club and FC Westchester. He was the starting Goalkeeper and Captain at Middletown High School for three years. His honors include; All-County, All-State First Team and runner-up Record Player of the Year in his senior Year.After high school, Michael played Division I college soccer at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa., where he was the starting goalkeeper for 3 years, and team captain his junior and senior years. While at Leigh Michael was named to the All-Patriot League, a Regional All-American, and 1992 Lehigh University Athlete of the Year. He currently holds the school records for most saves in a single season and most career saves at Lehigh, as well as being the record books for the Patriot League. Michael graduated Lehigh with a BS in Accounting and moved to New York City, working for Lehman Bros. Inc., where he did a variety of jobs ending up on the Government Securities Trading floor. He continued to play soccer for the Hudson Valley Region in the Empire State Games and for the Integral Kings, from Jamaica, Queens and worked youth clinics for the club FC Long Island. In 1998, Michael moved to Chicago with Lehman Bros. and worked at the Mercantile Exchange for both Lehman Bros. and Bear Stearns. While working on the floor of the Exchange, Michael began coaching and training goalkeepers for the Eclipse Select Soccer Club. In June 2000, he left the floor and joined the full time staff of GLSA and the Eclipse Select. Currently, Michael is the Executive Director that manages the Greater Libertyville Soccer Association. He oversees the development of 60 teams and recreational program. Michael is the Tournament Director for both GLSA, and works with the Kick-It 3v3 National Tour. Michael currently plays for the Schwaben AC over-30 team that has won several Illinois State Championships and in 2003 finished National Runner Up. Michael holds a USSF National ‘A’ License, NSCAA Regional Goalkeeping License, a Brazilian ‘D’ License, and is CPR/First Aid certified. Michael was named the IYSA 2008 Boys Coach of the Year and Region 2 Coach of the Year. Michael currently resides in Mundelein, IL with his wife Sarah and daughters Alivia and Emerson. |
