GLSA Soccer Academy - 2012 Winter

The Greater Libertyville Soccer Association is pleased to continue to offer these programs to its club members as well as any other local area players interested in developing their game. These programs are designed to be compliments to the players’ soccer experience. All programs are taught by the GLSA Training Staff. LITTLE KICKERS ACADEMY (ages 3 - 6)
A creative and FUN approach will be used to introduce age appropriate soccer fundamentals. All participants will be instructed by our GLSA staff and will be engaged in many FUN soccer activities as well as exercises that work on a child's motor development skills (jumping, balance and body fakes)
Dates: January 16 - March 8
Fee: $80 (8 sessions)
Location: Libertyville INDOOR Sports Complex ~ Turf Field
Ages: 3 – 6 years old
Classes: ___Mondays @ 1:00pm and Thursdays @ 11:00am
PREMIER JUNIORS ACADEMY (ages 6 – 10) ~ FULL
Interested in becoming a future soccer star? Players can expect to learn the fundamental skills necessary to succeed on the soccer field from the professional staff of the Libertyville Premier Travel Teams. Class will consist of time spent working on skill development through fun activities and then demonstrating these skills through small sided games (3v3, 4v4, etc.)
Dates: Sundays - January 8 - March 12
Fee: $135 for 9 sessions
Location: Indoor Sports Complex - Beige Court - Must wear hard soled shoes
Classes: Ages 6 – 9 1:00-2:15 pm

FIRST TOUCH TECHNICAL ACADEMY (ages 7 – 14)
Want to have a good first touch and be able to play more precisely at game speed? Learn the skills that are world renowned, this class is an extension of what GLSA has been doing with the foot-skills classes offered the past few years. Using the iSoccer player development program currently used by all the GLSA travel teams, Coach Memo Marin is back teaching the class and will utilize iSoccer skill development exercises to help players be better with the ball in several facets of the game. FRIDAY PLAY DAYS (ages 5 – 10 Recreational Level)
Want a chance to play some small sided games before the holidays hit. Well, GLSA is happy to offer 3 indoor play sessions on the Sports Complex Turf. Players will separated each week for 3v3 or 4v4 play.
Dates: Fridays - January 13 - March 9
Fee: $84 for 9 sesions

Ages: 5 - 10 years old
Classes: 4:15pm - 5:00 pm
TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM TRAINING (TDP)
SMALL GROUP TRAINING (4 to 6 players)
This is a great way to get in extra skill development this outdoor season. All players are asked to sign up as a group of 4 to 6 players. Each session will be run by a GLSA Professional Staff coach. Classes will have technical focus for the first portion and then finish off with small sided games to incorporate the techniques learned at each session.
Dates: Available starting the week of September 12, ending November 7
Fee: $120 per player

Ages: 8 -18 years old
Time & Day: Determined by staff coach and participants availability ~ (6) 1 hour sessions
INDIVIDUALIZED TRAINING (1 to 3 players)
Are you looking for some individualized training to enhance you soccer skills? Sessions with the GLSA staff will be very technically focused with lots and lots of repetitive exercise training to improve player technique an muscle memory for an activity. Technique will be corrected at the moment of activity to assure players understand the proper mechanics of the session's technical work. We offer technical focused sessions in scoring, dribbling, passing - receiving from the ground / air and goalkeeper training.
Dates: Available starting the week of September 12, ending November 7
Fees: ~ $275 per player (1 to 1 player/coach ratio)
~ $200 per player (2 to 1 player/coach ratio)
~ $150 per player (3 to 1 player/coach ratio)
Location: Libertyville Township Soccer Complex Fields
Ages: 8 – 18 years old
Time & Day: Determined by staff coach and participants availability ~ (6) 1 hour sessions
SPEED DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM, by Athletic Republic (ages 9 – 18)
Explosive power, speed, quickness, change of direction, footwork; this class will explore the physical attributes of the game of soccer. Athletic Republic staff will run dynamic speed and plyometric sessions to increase the athletic movement of the class participants. Please wear running shoes or soccer cleats for this class, no shin guards necessary. Bring soccer balls and water.
All participants MUST register through GLSA.
All class will be held at the Athletic Republic Training facility, inside the Libertyville Indoor Sports Center (2nd floor)
